Meebo Logo You all should be able to see the cool social media bar down the bottom of my web pages. This is thanks to the Meebo Bar http://bar.meebo.com/. I originally installed the Wibiya Toolbar.

These bars allow users who go to your site to easily share the content across social media channels. You can post site notifications (still working out if or how this is done using Meebo) users can chat to one another and both bars give you some nice stats.

The possibilities are great, it assists administrators to increase user interaction and time spent on the site plus it creates greater product and service awareness.
For example; if i am a music artist and release a new track - i can advertise that new track with a notification and a link whilst allowing you the users to interact and talk about the track. I can then monitor my analytics and user behaviour. It makes for a great ingredient in a marketing campaign mix.
Now i must admit, the Wibiya toolbar is a pretty thing - very pretty. You can style it and have an all around much greater control over the layout then you can using the Meebo bar. The site notification system works like a charm and the back end setup gives you a truck load of options. However - that is where it ended (well for me and a few others including Robert from Successful Affiliate Marketing).

Wibiya just doesn’t seem to work on a host of systems using Internet Explorer. Head over to their forum and you will see people like myself and Robert trying to work out why we can see the toolbar fine on Firefox or why some people can see our site on their IE but not us. The support for that 'common' issue isn't the best either - Robert has been waiting over 5 months for a solution; he replied to me in more or less words to just give up and try Meebo Bar as he did. So...to his recommendation, i did.

Meebo bar isn't as aesthetically appealing or customisable as Wibiya, but it gets the job done. Well that’s taking away some credit, it really is a nice tool (with a few bugs here and there) and it does something else really unique and helpful. It allows you to share content and images like this...

Bottom Left Hand Corner: Share Page - then you select the app to share content on

Meebo Bar

Drag & Drop Images - Hover you mouse over an image

Click and select the app to share it on.

Meebo Bar 3

Nice right? It can make a great addition to the user experience in your campaigns.

*Edit - We have taken down the toolbar as we redesign the website
