10 music-tech trends that will shape the next decade
I found this a real interesting read. I will list the 10 trends that Matt Rosoff talks about. I would tend to agree with all of them. The emergence of cloud computing will mean that file size wont be much of an issue, fast bandwidth means there is little point of actually downloading the song anyway. Take a look at suggestions rather then searches. As and SEO'er this topic has been popping up in my mind. I have little doubt that the future of optimisation will be along the lines of Suggestion-EO. Shaping these suggestions is where the work will be.
Songs instead of albums
Streams instead of downloads
In the cloud rather than on hard drives
Fidelity rather than file size
Extras become standard
Production rather than consumption
Suggestions rather than searches
Festivals rather than big concerts
Spectacle rather than personality
Retro takes on a new meaning
